UTM Audit Studio

Free browser-only UTM audit

Free Bulk UTM Checker

Find missing UTM tags, inconsistent campaign naming, and duplicate tracking parameters before launch.

Paste a batch, apply your team's naming rules, review safe fixes, and export a CSV that preserves every original URL.

  • Up to 500 URLs per audit
  • CSV import and export
  • Nothing leaves your browser

Audit workflow

Check your campaign links

Runs locally
0 URLs · limit 500

One absolute URL per line. Blank lines are ignored, and every line number is kept in the report.

Fictional example.com links — no real campaign data.

Nothing is uploaded. No audited URL is requested. Up to 500 URLs per run.

Suggestions stay unapproved until you review them.

How it works

A pre-launch check, not another dashboard

UTM Audit Studio is deliberately narrow: one batch, one rule set, one reviewable CSV. No account, no crawl, no attribution claims.

01

Paste or import

Add one URL per line or import a CSV. The tool reads the text only — it never opens a link or sends your list to a server.

02

Audit against your rules

Check required tags, duplicate parameters, casing, allow lists, aliases and campaign style. Every finding carries a rule code and an English explanation.

03

Review, approve, export

Approve only the safe fixes you trust. The CSV always keeps the original URL and uses a suggested URL as final_url only after approval.

Privacy is a design constraint, not a setting. There is no backend endpoint for URLs, no analytics SDK on this page, and no request to any audited destination.

Common mistakes

See the full guide
MISSING_REQUIRED

A required tag is missing

A link with source and campaign but no utm_medium cannot be segmented reliably in GA4.

?utm_source=google&utm_campaign=spring
VALUE_CASE

The same source is cased differently

Google, google and GOOGLE are separate values in reports. Pick one convention across the whole launch.

utm_source=Facebook
DUPLICATE_PARAM

A tracking parameter appears twice

utm_source=a&utm_source=b is ambiguous. The tool flags it and never guesses which value to keep.

utm_source=google&utm_source=bing
UTM_IN_FRAGMENT

Tags are hiding in the fragment

Text after # is not sent to the server as a query string. Campaign tags belong in the query string.

/#utm_source=google

Build a convention your team can actually keep.

A practical, original guide to source, medium, campaign, casing and aliases — including copyable examples and the mistakes that split GA4 reports.

FAQ

Questions before you paste a batch

Does this tool send my URLs anywhere?

No. Parsing, auditing, suggestions, approvals and CSV export run in your browser. The app has no audit API, database or upload endpoint, and it does not request any of the URLs you paste.

Does it check whether a landing page works?

No. UTM Audit Studio checks the URL text and your team's naming rules. It does not open links, test redirects, or verify that a page loads.

Is lowercase required by Google?

No. Lowercase is a team convention offered by this tool, not a Google platform requirement. GA4 treats parameter values as case-sensitive, so consistency still matters for clean reporting.

Can it verify that GA4 tracking is working?

No. The audit can confirm that the URL contains the expected tags and follows your policy. It cannot confirm that GA4 receives, attributes or reports the campaign.

What happens after I change a naming rule?

Existing results are marked out of date, previous approvals are cleared, and export is disabled until you run the audit again. This prevents an old rule set from producing a new final_url.

How large can a batch be?

Up to 500 non-empty URLs, and CSV files up to 1 MiB. The limit is enforced before the audit so you never receive a silently truncated report.
